From limpets to echo location in whales: Serendipity in science
Dave Lindberg shares several of his own research journeys with a focus on dispelling the myths of the rigid scientific method. “Science is far more fun, creative, and unpredictable than you might expect. That’s why we go to work everyday!” Join Dave in conversation about the untold sides of the scientific journey and contribute to a discussion on engaging the public in science as we kick off the Year of Science 2009.
David Lindberg is a Professor in the Department of Integrative Biology at UC Berkeley and Faculty Curator of the UC Museum of Paleontology. He is Co-PI of the Understanding Evolution and Understanding Science websites, and PI of The Paleontology Portal. His research focuses on evolution in the rocky, nearshore marine biome.
