A seasoned performer with a captivating voice and a plentiful repertoire, Marina LaValle returns to Berkeley with songs and rhythms from the rich cultural tradition of the Afro-Peruvian people of Peru. With special guests Felipe Pumarada, Braulio Barrera & Pedro Rosales.

Afro-Peruvian singer Marina Lavalle was born in Lima Peru. She started singing at age 8, where singing was a family tradition. Marina sings and composes Festejo and Lando folk music, traditional forms of Afro Peruvian music.  She has distinguished herself as lead singer for Peru Negro, and many other cultural groups of African origin in Peru, US, and Venezuela.
