This debut solo CD features the original repertoire of Lina G. Torio. A familiar face and unequivocally gorgeous voice, Lina conveys the knowledge and style of Puerto Rican musical folklore as well as her swinging talents as a pregonera, lead singer. Lina sings with La Familia Son, Rumbache, Las Bomberas de la Bahia and various Latin groups in the Bay Area.
Her new cd, "Mestiza", introduces the concept of primba - contemporary arrangements mixing elements of timba and prince. Torio's debut CD features a mix of Latin, soul, rock and urban funk with an original repertoire in celebration of social consciousness and the human spirit and in effort to keep live music live. Lina brings a hard hitting live show featuring top musicians from Omaya, the Marcus Shelby quartet, Etta James, Lauryn Hill, QBA, Saoco, Rumbache and Fito Reinoso.
