The Hybrid Performance Experiment presents a three-day performance of their newest work: 2012: The Beginning of the End of the Beginning… Again! As the culmination of his three-year theater residency at La Peña, Marc David Pinate directs this experimental, tragically humorous exploration of the End of Time as we know it. People are considering if the scale and variety of cataclysmic events now enveloping the world, the growth of spirituality movements, the collapsing of time and technologies has anything to do with the fast approaching 2012 Mayan end-of-time prophecy. A hybrid aesthetic that mixes dark humor with abstract movement, live music and video projections. Four characters - a young autistic girl who is going blind, a queer biracial man overcoming his past, a morally ambiguous investment banker you love to hate, and a ghetto-fabulous single mother/hustler with a secret - come face to face with their deepest fears and wildest dreams in the days leading up to a solar eclipse which takes place on December 21st, 2012.
