"La Ultima Cena/ The Last Supper" (Dir by Tomas Gutierrez Alea, 1976) came out at the height of Cuba internationalism in Africa. The story, based on meticulous historical research, is of a slave rebellion in Cuba in 1795. A heady combination of action film and a comedy [or tragedy] of manners, this film maintains a powerful commitment to the idea that it is right to rebel.
