There is no doubt Plena is the most energizing rhythm Puerto Rico has to offer. Los Pleneros de Severo revolutionized Puerto Rican Plena when they came out with their Plena Pa’Lante concept. They explain their music by saying “we just put some PSQ batteries into the rhythm.” These fine musicians have been playing together since they were 7 to 10 year old children. Today, after more than twenty (20) years together, their musical evolution is evident in each one of their presentations. Keeping the base and fundaments from traditional Puerto Rican Plena, these musicians have developed a new style that has earned the respect from all other musicians in their and other fields. Pleneros de Severo will be presenting their talent at La Peña on a one time event. Event made possible by APITO Centro Cultural de Puerto Rico.
