Canto a lo poeta: poet songs is a documentary film by Maria Jose Calderon about La Paya, a deeply rooted style of improvisational singing that has been popular for hundreds of years in rural Chile and the singer poets keeping the tradition alive today. The filmaker will be present. Two of the featured "payadores" in this film, Eduardo Peralta and Manuel Sanchez will perform and do workshops at La Peña Sept. 23 - 28.
