Attention Salsa Dancers! La Peña Cultural Center is proud to introduce the only $5 salsa dance party in the Bay Area!
Orchestra La Peña, directed by Josh Jones, will perform songs from your favorite salsa artists including Eddie Palmieri, Beny Moré, the Spanish Harlem Orchestra, El Canario, Celia Cruz and many more. Come party with Josh and his band members the last Monday of each month for the Bay Area’s only free salsa dance party.
This is an ALL AGES event! Beginners are welcome!
Beginners Salsa class at 8:30pm (No extra charge!)
Band starts at 9pm!

If you are interested in Brazilian rhythms, you have got to try this class!
All levels are welcome to this upbeat and energizing Afro-Brazilian percussion workshop, “Luna Tambor” (“Moon Drum”), taught by master percussionist Marcos Odara.
The student will be able to learn to play instruments such as agogô, xequerê, atabaque, berimbau, tamborim, repique, cuíca e pandeiro.
Students are encouraged to bring their own instruments, but some drums will be provided!
Marcos will begin each class with body warmups to prepare the body and mind to let loose and play the Brazilian way! Students will be taught motor control, manual techniques, knowledge of Afro rhythms, such as: Samba, Ijexá, Samba-Reggae, Candomblé Ketu nation, Angola and free contemporary beats.
