The use of our space by other groups does not mean La Peña endorses the views or opinions presented by them. As part of our mission, La Peña believes it is important to encourage discussion and dialogue to increase understanding among different and diverse groups and cultures.
Space availability varies monthly. We book 2-6 months in advance. Non-profit educational events are given priority. Advertised programs must be open and accessible to the general public. Request for private events such as weddings, receptions, memorials, etc. are accepted on a case by case basis and a different rental rate applies. (Business and corporate rate is $75 an hour). Rental rates subject to change.

La Peña Cultural Center
Non-Profit rental rate for Thursday and Sunday evenings:
$300 or 30% of gross of the door, whichever is greater, plus $20/hour for house management. Rate covers a 4-hour period, including basic sound, general stage and house lighting, use of 175 chairs, and 2 folding tables. Basic sound includes two microphones for speech only, video projector, and CD player. The house manager is required for the entire rental period. If Sound or Light Technician is needed fees may apply.
Rental rate for Friday and Saturday evenings:
Fridays & Saturdays are generally not available. However, on occasion they are available for $800 or 30% of gross of the door, whichever is greater, for a 6-hour period. This rate includes the same as the above point. This fee does not include technical or custodial fees.
- Each additional hour is $75 on Thursdays & Sundays and $100 on Fridays & Saturdays.
- The renting organization is responsible for setting up and cleaning the room and operating the box office for the program.
- Weekend day use is possible for conferences and meetings. Please inquire.
- The stage is 23 feet across and 13 feet deep.
Sound and Light Systems with Technician:
A technician is needed for music events, dances, and other programs with technical requirements exceeding what is included in basic rental above. Includes full use of bi-amped sound system, up to 16 mics, 4 stage monitors (2 monitor mixes), DAT, 18 lighting instruments with 2-scene preset controller. La Peña will provide technician, or you may provide your own with advance approval of La Peña’s Technical Coordinator (a 2-hour consultation fee will be charged). Please speak with the Technical Coordinator (ext. 19) at least two weeks prior to event date about your sound and lighting needs, and budget for load-in, sound-check and breakdown time. ($30/hr., four hours minimum)
Other Equipment Available:
Video projector, VHS & DVD player, CD player
Lighting technician fees:
$20-$25 hour (depending on lighting needs and complexity). There is a two hour minimum consultation fee.
Box Office Services:
Renting organizations may provide own box office and ticket taker to avoid this fee. La Peña charges $15 an hour for box office services. Box office person will sell and reconcile tickets (3-hour minimum).
If applicable a refundable security/cleaning deposit will be returned within 5 working days of completed event.
The current Cleaning fee is $15 an hour. Groups renting may have this waived if they leave the room clean. Minimum of 3 hours required.
This is the space between the restaurant and the theater. The space has a small stage and is suitable for poetry readings, solo (2 or 3 person) acoustic presentations, and receptions. The space comes with a small six channel sound system and a piano. There is ambient restaurant noise and traffic to the public bathrooms. Please call or email for rates.

The Community Room space is available for acoustic rehearsals, classes, workshops, small meetings and presentations. It has a mirror-covered wall for dance rehearsals. The rate is $25/hour. No amplified sound is permitted. Minimum rental is a two hour period.
