Renting La Peña General Information

The use of our space by other groups does not mean La Peña endorses the views or opinions presented by them. As part of our mission, La Peña believes it is important to encourage discussion and dialogue to increase understanding among different and diverse groups and cultures.

Space availability varies monthly. We book 2-6 months in advance. Non-profit educational events are given priority. Advertised programs must be open and accessible to the general public. Request for private events such as weddings, receptions, memorials, conferences and meetings are possible. Please inquire.

TheaterWeekday Rental Rate

(Includes Thursday and Sunday evenings.)

$350 or 30% of the door, whichever is greater, plus $17/hour for house management. Rate covers a 4-hour period, including basic sound, general stage and house lighting, use of 175 chairs, and 3 folding tables. Basic sound includes two microphones for speech only, video projector, CD/DVD player. The house manager is required for the entire rental period. Renters are responsible for set-up/tear-down, and operating the box office.

Rental rate for Friday and Saturday evenings:
$800 or 30% of the door, whichever is greater, for a 6-hour period. All other conditions from weekday rentals apply.

Additional Fees that May Apply:

  • Each additional hour is $75.
  • Box-office management is available for $15/hour. This includes; third party ticketing agent set-up for ticket pre-sales, sale of tickets on-site, and reconciliation of all sales.
    • (2-hour minimum).
  • Piano use requires tuning fee of: $50

Sound and Light Systems with Technician:
A technician is needed for music events, dances, and other programs with technical requirements exceeding what is included in basic rental above. Includes full use of bi-amped sound system, up to 16 mics, 4 stage monitors (2 monitor mixes), DAT, 18 lighting instruments with 2-scene preset controller. La Peña will provide technician, or you may provide your own with advance approval of La Peña’s Technical Coordinator (a 2-hour consultation fee will be charged). Please speak with the Bookings Manager at least two weeks prior to event date about your sound and lighting needs, and budget for load-in, sound-check and breakdown time. ($25/hr., four hours minimum)

IMG_3822This is the space between the restaurant and the theater. The space has a small stage and is suitable for poetry readings, solo (2 or 3 person) acoustic presentations, and receptions. The space comes with a six channel sound system. There is ambient  restaurant noise and traffic to the public bathrooms.

Evening and Weekends:

Corporate rate: $60/hour
Nonprofit rate: $40/hour
(Both include house management and basic sound technical needs.)

Daytime and Weekdays:

Corporate rate: $35/hour
Nonprofit rate: $25/hour
Weekly Class rate: $20/hour

Community-room1-e1351626951388-1024x518The Community Room space is available for acoustic rehearsals, classes, workshops, small meetings and presentations. It has a mirror-covered wall for dance rehearsals.

Weekday:

Corporate rate: $30/hour
Nonprofit/Community rate: $20/hour
No amplified sound is permitted. Minimum rental is a two hour period.

Weekly Class Rate: $12/hour

Maximum Occupancy = 20
Square Feet – 400

TiendaLa Tiendita is a cozy space ideal for a small class and meetings.
