🌴ARTIST BIO: DAVE NADA (LA)🌴

Dave Nada, born in Maryland to Ecuadorian parents, grew up surrounded by the sounds of folkloric music, cumbia, salsa, merengue, reggaeton and his four brothers. As a teen, he gravitated toward the legendary hardcore punk scene in Washington DC. He played in bands while learning to DJ on college radio as well. A move to Baltimore in the mid 2000s landed Nada in the second surge of Baltimore club music where he DJed alongside icons like K-Swift, Rod Lee and DJ Technics. During this period he began producing acclaimed club tracks of his own.

In 2009, he created moombahton, the fusion genre of house music and reggaeton. By slowing down Afrojack’s remix of Silvio Ecomo and Chuckie’s song “Moombah” from 128 BPM to 108 BPM, Nada created what was later to become a sensation. Since then, the genre has helped launch careers of major artists such as Dillon Francis and Munchi. Moombahton has also inspired #1 pop mega hits such as Justin Beiber’s “Sorry” and Major Lazer and DJ Snake’s “Lean On.”’

The Moombahton Massive party, a party created by Dave Nada, Matt Nordstrom and Sabo at U Street Music Hall in DC, has become an international movement of its own in effect making the three, Moombahton’s leading ambassadors. Dave has also remixed, produced and toured with the biggest names in music including Skrillex, Bomba Estéreo, and the late great salsa legend Celia Cruz.

Dave Nada, currently on his Real Moombahton Hours tour, is on the road supporting local charities and non-profit organizations in each town he visits. In his own words, “Moombahton has always been a family affair, so I’m using my platform to help others and to raise awareness for groups and institutions that need it. The world needs to party together some more and nothing brings a dance floor together like moombahton.”

🔪ARTIST BIO: Turbo Sonidero (SJ)🔪

San Jose born producer known for creating “Tumbia” a hypnotic and electric style that mixes cumbia and hip-hop/rap samples paired with 808 drum kits, and edgy synth keys

⚡ARTIST BIO: Jackfruit (Global Barrio)⚡

Edgar Ayala (Jackfruit) plays raw and passionate deejay sets that draw inspiration from the multi-cultural epicenter in which he lives. His upbringing as a deejay has been molded in large part by elders in the Bay Area’s Soulful House music community. Playing everything from Afro-funk and Global Bass to House and Techno, he is a deejay in the classic sense, selecting for the crowd and space, without compromising the art form. He has opened for notable acts such as DJ EZ, Gene Hunt, and David Harness, and he is the resident deejay for Global Barrio.
