La Peña is pleased to be bringing back our most popular vendor fair: Frida Kahlo’s Birthday Tianguis Celebration! This year’s event will be held outdoors on Saturday, July 9th from 12am-6pm and will focus on celebrating strong women artists, artisans, and creators from the Bay Area.
While every vendor is welcome to sign up, we are giving priority to local artists and artisans who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color), LGBTQIA+, multiracial, and migrants. Non-profits are also welcome to participate. Thank you for helping us to fulfill our mission!
If you’d like to participate as a vendor, please read the information below:
- This year, the Tianguis is OUTDOOR (3105 Shattuck Ave. Berkeley, CA 94705).
- We are offering 10 feet x 10 feet spots that can hold a canopy to give shade and allow enough space for vendors to be comfortable and safe. The price of each spot is $100. Vendors can share their spot with other vendors if they want to!
- If you are applying as a FOOD VENDOR, please submit the form below and wait for our approval to make your payment (we are curating the food so that we avoid unnecessary competition).
- Vendors need to bring their own canopy or umbrellas to give shade to their stands if they want to (strongly recommended).
- Vendors must bring their own tables. Chair(s) will be provided by La Peña.
- Vendors will be selling 12pm-6pm. Vendor load-in starts at 10am (make sure you give yourself enough time to park and set up!)
- Although we do extensive publicity, vendors are also expected to publicize the event. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Newsletter to share our promotional materials!
Instructions to sign up as a vendor:
- Fill and submit the form below. Please fill out the information EXACTLY as you would like it to appear; we will be copying and pasting the text you provide.
- Make your payment ($100) on this link: https://lapena.org/space-rental-payments (in “Reason for Payment” put “Frida Kahlo Tianguis”). IMPORTANT: You will ONLY be reserved a spot once you have submitted your payment and received a confirmation email. If you submit your payment and don’t receive a confirmation, contact Ellen at ellen@lapena.org.
- Once you have registered and made your payment, expect an email from ellen@lapena.org with further set up information.
