Welcome to La Peña! Promoting social justice & intercultural understanding through the arts since 1975.
Join us for our 2nd La Peña Archive Community Meeting on Thursday, February 3rd at 6pm PST (ONLINE)!
We will update you on the progress around the different strategies we’ve found to safeguard our rich archive. We will continue our conversation about accessibility, potential partnerships, and community stewardship. We are so excited to share our ideas and hear from you!
A little about La Peña’s archive:
Over the past four decades, La Peña has accumulated an extensive and extremely valuable collection of posters, photographs, works of art, and audiovisual recordings that portray resistance & solidarity movements, cultural events, and a wide range of political activities from the Bay Area, Latin America & beyond.
This archive represents part of the memory of La Peña and of the communities that have given life to this space. Currently, this archive is in situ at La Peña. However, it is not easily accessible to the public and current storage is not optimal for preserving material for the future.
The meeting is on Thursday, February 3rd at 6:0pm PST.
