Welcome to La Peña! Promoting social justice & intercultural understanding through the arts since 1975.
We are kicking off the Bay Area Bomba y Plena Workshop season with our first Family Workshop on Sunday, August 18, 11:30am – 1:00pm.
Our Family Workshop is designed for children, youth, teens, and adults to engage in the practice and learning of the musical traditions of Bomba as well as Plena as a family. Together, families will sing, play percussion, dance and participate in a variety of activities to learn about Puerto Rico and its rich culture and history. If you are looking for a fun, dynamic and meaningful activity to do with the family, you should definitely check this out!
