Helm and Mira Betz – Belly Dancing & Live Music

Join us for an evening of music and dance within and beyond the boundaries of the Middle East.

Mira Betz has been performing Traditional and Contemporary forms of Middle Eastern dance for 20 years. Her work has been instrumental in the emergence of a new style known all around the world as Tribal Fusion, a dance rooted in tradition while forging new bonds between world dance and individuality. Helm has played a part during those 20 years and, as always, we are looking forward to Mira’s visual interpretations. Expect the unexpected with guest dancers as well.

From original compositions that have become classics in the worlds of Tribal and Belly Dance to traditional music from throughout the Mediterranean, Helm has continually expanded their repertoire since the band’s beginning in the early 1990’s. For this performance Ling Shien Bell (woodwinds, accordion, vocals), and Mark Bell and David Two Hawk (percussion) will be joined by Paul Anderson on oud and Lani Rhoades on qanun.
