Come join The La Peña Old Guard* Inaugural “Third Wednesday” Gathering

• Social Hour 12:00pm – 1:10pm: Catch up with friends and make new ones over food and drink at Los Cilantros Mexican Restaurant, adjacent to La Peña. No reservation needed.
• Participatory Discussion Hour 1:15pm- 2:30pm: Participate in a lively conversation about current political and cultural issues vital to the progressive community. Invited activists will serve as facilitators (not talking heads) to help focus discussions geared to key educational themes and implementable actions. La Peña Topic -In this electoral moment, how do we Block right wing authoritarianism while Building our progressive movement? Facilitators/ Catalysts: Alegría de la Cruz, Dolores Huerta Foundation; Max Elbaum, Convergence Magazine; Philip Maldari, KPFA.

*What is La Peña OLD Guard?
We are a group of progressives who came of political age during the 60’s, 70’s and early ‘80s, often, in conjunction with the founding and first years of La Peña. We include founders, volunteers, cultural workers and other supporters. All are welcome to participate in our activities. Our goal is to keep the 50-year community building mission of La Peña as vibrant as ever, while helping foster a strong Bay Area progressive movement. A principal aim is to promote the long-term sustainability of the Center as a dynamic Bay Area resource.
