Here you will find photos and videos of some of the events that have been part of La Peña’s Programming over the years. Thank you to all of you who continue to support us and enjoy the best of our local Latin American & Caribbean culture!
2021
We held a sold out opening reception for “The Light that Shines through the Cracks” art exhibition on December 3rd. The exhibition (still available to view during our gallery hours through January 2022) features the new work of seven BIPOC artists, activists, and collectives that display acts of collective care and responsiveness within almost two years of unprecedented challenges. See more photos of the event here.

- Online panel “Keeping the Flame Alive: An intergenerational conversation on sustaining activism and creativity under racial capitalism”, October 14, 2021. We had the privilege to talk with brilliant artists, activists and cultural strategists: Sage Crump, Tré Vasquez, Meena Natarajan, Ruby Mountain, Graciela Sánchez, and Paul Chin. You missed it? You can watch it and get inspired here!
- La Peña Archive Community Meeting. September 30, 2021. We got together to discuss around the best way to preserve and activate La Peña’s vast and rich material legacy. Our Archive Committee has been working hard, researching venues, institutions and collaborators who could help us take care of our archive, and this conversation was a fruitful beginning to move in the right direction, for all of us, for our history, and for future generations. Get in touch with us here if you are interested in getting involved with this project!
