International Women’s History Month is an annual worldwide event dedicated to highlight the conditions and the struggles of women around the world and their contributions to history and society. Our special series of performances includes outstanding local women artists and performers from Mexico, Africa, Japan, the Middle East, Panama, Chile, and the US.
With the International Women’s Month series we are bringing people together to learn, share, and to make a positive difference in our lives and in the lives of others. Also, with this celebration we come together and stand against shameful media comments to women, we say no to discriminating policies, and yes to gender equality at every level.
The series consist of art exhibits, solo performances, poetry, live music, film, a benefit by Global Women Intact and a showcase of poetry and song by La Pena’s 2nd Generation. For more details on our event visit our calendar.
“It is very important to respect women everywhere, and I am especially thankful that women all over the world are forming a network, together with their allies, to support the defense of our human rights. What is more important for all of us to remember, is that women needs to be in our dialogue and in the news 365 days of the year, from the local to the global. We understand that if someone is suffering injustice anywhere, we all suffer. Women are healers!”
