Conmemoración 11 de Septiembre 1973

Este año se conmemoran 49 años del golpe de Estado que —apoyado por la CIA y el gobierno de EE.UU.— derrocó al presidente democráticamente electo Salvador Allende el 11 de septiembre de 1973 en Chile. Acompáñanos a estar juntes una vez más en este evento íntimo de conmemoración, revitalizando nuestra memoria histórica y continuando la lucha por la justicia y la dignidad de todos, todas y todes! Tendremos música en vivo, arte, comida chilena, vino navegado, y la tradicional instalación artística participativa al frente de nuestro mural. ¡Ven y hazte parte de este espacio tan importante de respeto, amor y resistencia!

ENGLISH:

This year is the 49th anniversary of the coup d’etat that —supported by the CIA and the US government— overthrew the democratically elected president Salvador Allende on September 11, 1973 in Chile. Join us once again in this intimate event of commemoration that revitalizes our historical memory and continues the struggle for justice and dignity of all! We will have live music, art, Chilean food, wine, and the traditional artistic installation in front of our mural. Come and be part of this important space of respect, love and resistance!

¡Ven a compartir un evento gratuito e íntimo lleno de música, arte, comida, memoria y amistad!

Ya está muy cerca el 48avo aniversario del golpe de Estado del 11 de septiembre de 1973 en Chile. Para conmemorarlo, este año realizaremos un Memorial en persona y virtual que honra la conexión que existe entre décadas de resistencia histórica y la lucha actual liderada por las generaciones jóvenes que están construyendo en Chile una sociedad más justa. 

El evento incluirá:

Música chilena y latinoamericana en vivo, sopaipillas, bebidas, pintura en vivo de un mural de Los Pobres Artistas, una exposición de archivo histórico y una instalación artística / velatorio en recuerdo de quienes ya no están con nosotros.

Nos reuniremos de manera segura afuera de La Peña, y para quienes no puedan asistir en persona, habrá una transmisión en vivo disponible en nuestro canal de Youtube. ¡El enlace para eso se compartirá pronto!

Come share a free and intimate event filled with music, art, food, memory, and friendship!

The 48th anniversary of the September 11, 1973 coup in Chile is very close. To commemorate it, this year we will hold an in-person and virtual Memorial that honors the connection between decades of historical resistance and the current struggle led by young generations who are building a more just society in Chile. Come share a free and intimate event filled with music, art, food, memory, and friendship!

The event will include:

Live Chilean and Latin American music, sopaipillas (chilean snacks), drinks, live painting of a mural by Los Pobres Artistas, a historical archive exhibition, and an artistic installation / candlelight vigil in memory of those who are no longer with us.

We will meet safely outside La Peña, and for those who cannot attend in person, there will be a live streaming available on our YouTube channel. The link for that will be shared soon!
