- Next Level” talleres will highlight 2014 PAZ: Fandango Urbano repertoire which draws from regional dance influences of different parts of Mexico; a look at the Puerto Rican holande rhythm that is the basis of the 2014 PAZ: Fandango Urbano composition “La abejita”; as well as some traditional son jarocho repertoire. Ages 12-adult.
Fanny Ara Flamenco Showcase
JUNE 5TH, 2016 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm, $22 at the Door (Cash only!)
Fanny Ara Flamenco Dance School will be presenting their 8th full-length student show. Acclaimed Flamenco dancer and teacher Fanny Ara will showcase new and fun choreographies based on traditional flamenco, which will be interpreted by her cast of students. Also featured will be solo dance pieces by Damien Alvarez, Diandra Connolly, and Masako Numasaki. Guest artists Jose Cortes (singer), Manuel Gutierrez (cajon) and David Paez (guitar) will accompany the dancers as they come together on stage after working for several months to express and enjoy this powerful and fascinating art form.
