On November 1st, we kicked off a month full of meaningful moments to gather, honor, reflect, and celebrate. Our Día de Muertos ceremony at La Peña was a powerful start—dedicated to the victims of State violence, occupation, and ongoing genocide 🕯️From the beautiful community ofrenda led by Mayra Hernández, to the lively Son Jarocho fandango by María De La Rosa, kids’ arts & crafts, the special menu by Chef Dilsa Lugo of @loscilantros, and the local artisan mercado—each moment was filled with connection and remembrance.🌼 With deep gratitude to all—past and present—who continue to show up and support this work. ✨ Thank You for an Incredible Season of Empowering Open Mics! ✨Earlier this month, we wrapped up our Empowering People of Color Open Mic season with the beautiful Empowering Women of Color Open Mic in collaboration with UC Berkeley Womxn of Color Initiative.
