La Peña Cultural Center and Los Cilantros Restaurant welcome you to our humble Día de Muertos event! Let’s keep each other safe so that we can continue to find creative ways to build community during these unprecedented times.
Here is some helpful information to help you navigate this event:
- Follow the BLUE X’s on the floor for the Art Sale & Community Altar
- Follow the GREEN X’s on the floor for the Restaurant section
- Masks are mandatory.
- There is no dining on-site- click here for nearby parks to picnic.
- Please keep at least a 6-ft distance from folks that are not in your bubble.
- Portions of this event will be Livestreamed to La Peña’s Facebook page here.
- Please be mindful that there are people waiting in line behind you – so we ask that you not take more than 5 minutes at each station.
Event flow: With our community’s healing and safety in mind, this event is intended to be a social distance walk-through and pick-up of food & art.
- Art prints by Ernesto Hernandez-Olmos ($25) La Peña Facemasks for sale ($10). Artesania by In Lak’ech Danza Azteca for sale.
- Outdoor community altar by Manuel Garcia & La Peña Community, featuring selected artwork by Oree Originol’s “Justice for our Lives” portrait series.
- Walk through Los Cilantros restaurant for Dia de Muertos Art Series by Ernesto Hernandez-Olmos & ofrenda by Los Cilantros staff
- Food pick-up at Los Cilantros: special menu for Dia de Muertos! Please note, some items may be sold out if you have not pre-ordered by October 30th.
