Come dance to the funky Brazilian grooves and positive message of Namorados da Lua, who are known for their high-energy and community-oriented shows.

NamoradNamorados 300 x 200os Da Lua unites Brazilian and North American musicians with a common love of creating positive music with a message.  NDL showcases a beautiful blend of diverse styles, incorporation musical influences from reggae, jazz, pop, rock and funk as well as Brazilian samba, forró, and Axe carnival music.Their music brings unstoppable driving rhythms, fiery lyrical grooves, harmonious instrumentation and original funk that makes them irresistibly danceable for any audience.

Join Namorados da Lua (NDL) band on Friday, April 29 for our monthly celebration honoring the resistance and the resilience of our Black and Native communities from the Bay to Bahia.

The night will begin with a blessing and opening traditional songs by Wicahpiluta Candelaria (RedStar). Rumsen Ohlone / Mescalero Apache. RedStar is an Ohlone Cultural Presenter, Vice Chairman of Sacred Sites Protection & Rites of Indigenous Tribes. A Traditional Singer & Storyteller, Spoken Word Poet & Hip Hop Artist. Born in San Jose, CA & Raised in between the Bay Area & Phoenix, AZ, RedStar blends his life experiences as a Singer, Activist, Traditional Dancer & Herbin Native Into His Art of Words.

Our guest opening band, Vezika Pyzez, is a collaboration between artists Metzali and Mochipa. The purpose of Vezika Pyzez’s work is to create art with the intention of recycling regenerative energy into consciousness. Through self-expression, Vezika Pyzez shares narratives of Indigenous beings existing in colonial urbanity while working towards reconnecting with our capacity to be self-regenerative and live with respect for all Creation. Vezika Pyzez exists to harmonize with all our relations of Creation.

This month, we are joined by DJ Selecta Riddm (Gabriel Lautaro), spinning an eclectic danceable blend of Latin, Reggae, Dance Hall, Cumbia, and Hip Hop.

Our power is rooted in our joy – so let’s grow our people power on the dance floor. The movement that plays together stays together!
