We hope you can join us for this special evening that gives voice to the hidden treasure of Venezuelan music with an original perspective! This concert hopes to create an intentional welcoming space for all immigrants and allies as we celebrate the fusion of Venezuelan folk music with adventurous North American jazz.
For this special concert, Venezuelan-born multi-instrumentalist Jackie Rago, an established Bay Area artist, has invited newcomer Venezuelan dancer and choreographer Juliana Mendonca, to perform with her established group V-Note Ensemble.
Plus, special guest vocalist Ana Maria Violich, from the Venezuela Music Project will also be collaborating in this unique presentation.
V-Note Ensemble is hailed for its spirited performances, original compositions, keen arrangements and great musicianship, to blend together to deliver a unique musical sound.
In preparation for their upcoming recording project, the group will be previewing new material that continues to explore the cultural fusion of Venezuelan folk music with adventurous North American jazz.
“We are totally inspired composing, arranging and rehearsing new music for our next recording project. ” – Jackeline Rago & V-Note Ensemble
The group’s upcoming recording is in collaboration with the Maginus Project, an organization that supports outstanding musical artists in jazz, classical and other genres which tend to fall outside the bounds of the for-profit music industry.
