Clarissa Bitar is an award winning Palestinian oud musician and composer born, raised, and based in Los Angeles, California. They graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in Music and an emphasis in Ethnomusicology. To further their studies, Clarissa sought training from prominent Arab oudists including Simon Shaheen, Charbel Rouhana, and Bassam Saba. Clarissa has had the privilege of performing around the country and internationally. They have incorporated oud with a multitued of genres ranging from R&B to Pop to Hip Hop and Rap. Their latest album titled ‘Hassan Sabi’ is out now on all streaming platforms.
Lara Aburamadan is a Palestinian multidisciplinary artist, singer and Co-founder of Refugee Eye. Born and raised in Gaza City, now based in the San Francisco Bay Area, her work explores nostalgia and tends to embrace the human perspective through visual storytelling, and other forms of expression. Lara has been chosen by Time Magazine among 34 women photojournalists around the world that you should follow their work in 2017.
Triagonal Disk is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer from Cairo Egypt, and now residing in the Bay Area. Specifically, he plays the electric saxophone and percussion. Since adolescence, he has gathered much of his musical knowledge from his mother who was a music teacher in Cairo. His inspiration is community. Triagonal Disk has produced and released two albums which can be currently found on Spotify.
DJ Mohammaddin is multidisciplinary sound and visual artist. They center on dots, lines and color as a method of pursuing definition and positionality. Through the utility of body, images and contextualized objects, they formulate poetic statements of determination. They have exhibited work at SFAI (San Francisco), A.I.R. (New York), Times Square (New York), Jacobs Institute (Berkeley), Worth Ryder (Berkeley), The Cincinnati Art Museum and The Jewish Museum (New York). They hold a BA in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California Berkeley and an MFA in Visual Arts from Columbia University.
