Terga Live Concert at La Peña!
Join us for an evening of music on July 20th! Doors open at 7:30 PM, and the show kicks off at 8:00 PM. TICKETS HERE.
First up is Kali Orkestar, a vibrant ensemble specializing in Romani (Gypsy) Brass music from across the Balkans. Lifelong friends Tano Brock and Benji Rifati will take you on a musical journey through Greece, Turkey, Macedonia, and beyond, showcasing a diverse range of melodies and styles taught to them by masters of the craft.
Following them, experience the dynamic sounds of Terga, a North African band inspired by the rich and diverse cultural tapestry of the region. Terga blends traditional North African rhythms with modern musical influences, creating a unique and captivating auditory experience. Their music reflects the intricate mix of Arab, Berber, and Mediterranean cultures, infusing each track with rhythms, melodies, and instruments that tell the story of their homeland’s vibrant heritage.
The name Terga, meaning “dreams” in the Berber language, symbolizes the band’s vision of blending the old with the new and their aspiration to transcend cultural boundaries through music. Terga’s performances are a colorful journey through time and space, where ancient sounds meet contemporary beats, and folklore dances with innovation. The band members, hailing from various parts of North Africa, bring their own regional influences, creating a harmonious blend that resonates with audiences worldwide.
Don’t miss this evening of cultural unity and artistic expression as Kali Orkestar and Terga take you on a musical adventure that bridges past and present, tradition and modernity, East and West!
