La Rumba Me Llama: Festival de Música Afro-Cubana

Here’s a recap of La Rumba Me Llama Festival with Einar Leliebre Nuñez and Aimee Suzara. Special thanks to Director and Culture Bearer Einar Leliebre Nuñez for selecting top-notch musicians and dancers, and to Aimee Suzara for her incredible contributions. Your efforts brought together Cubans, Caribbeans, Latinos, people from the African Diaspora, and culture supporters from all walks of life. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible. Fusion of Nations: Benefit for Displaced Families in Palestine, Sudan and the Congo

Join us for a benefit event for displaced and impacted families in the Congo, Palestine, and Sudan! This event will include live drumming, a round table panel and words from guest speakers, and a hip hop show featuring DJ Ari B, Amihan, Alyssa tha G, MC Pauze and the Bay Area’s very own Equipto.

Come learn and build with organizers from Gabriela, the Palestinian Feminist Collective, the Sudan Tapes Archive, and the local movement to combat police brutality and the expansion of cop cities across Turtle Island. Our people have always known how to organize and resist – in the streets, through culture and ancestral practices, and in community.
We’re continuing to raise funds in these times of raging global crises, and to build community across nations and movements for liberation. We have so much to learn from each other’s histories, as we deepen our political consciousness and commitments. We’ll be donating the funds to mutual aid efforts supporting displaced and impacted families in the Congo, Palestine, and Sudan.
TICKETS are at a sliding scale $10 to 25 (presale online) and $15 to 25 at the door. Consider making a donation even if you’re unable to make it to the event – anything that you can contribute helps! This is what international solidarity & mutual aid looks like.

WHY START YOUNG? Research shows that starting young (between age 0-6) is critical for establishing the lifelong musical and linguistic skills of singing in tune, keeping a steady beat, and having accurate pronunciation in more than one language. Our family music class is a great place to build these skills in a LOVING and PRESSURE-FREE environment.

CASH $300 ($150 siblings) Please bring exact cash payment on the first day of class.
CREDIT CARD $324 ($162 siblings)
